A New Path

It was a fun surprise this week watching the outside of the Library take shape.  We knew that there needed to be paths and that due to drainage the outside of the building and landscaping would change.  But we didn’t know how.  If you’ve not been by, the grounds look very different.
We know this is not yet complete, but it is starting to have a more polished feel.

The inside still has a way to go, however.  We’ve peeked in and seen that walls are starting to have primer, heating units are being installed, progress is being made, but it still has a way to go!

I’m sure summer is going to be busy for everyone!
Happy Memorial Day!

Moving Along

While the outside of the Library is taking shape, the inside is getting closer too!  The past week saw the completion of wall board.  The guys continue to work on electric, HVAC and the remainder of the outside work of drainage and walkways.

This week we had to turn in our final paint color choices. But there is still much on the inside that looks in need:  floors, ceilings...  But walls are a very good start.

Looking right from the circ desk.

Looking out to the front door from the circ desk.

We are starting to order some of the new furnishings needed and our excitement grows.  Of course, too, the realization of what will be needed for our return is also growing.  That this realization is happening at the start of summer, our busiest time is daunting.  The Library will be closed for Memorial Day weekend as we rest up and we hope to see you all on June 20th our official start date for Summer Reading!  Note:  this year Summer Reading and our popular Read for Feed program will be for both adults and youth.  It’s bound to be a busy summer and we are currently anticipating returning to the Big B. in the fall.

A New Side of Things

This week we saw great change to the Library building.  No more Tyvek!  The siding is complete.  The building once again, looks like a regular building.  Swing through the lot and take a look.

Unfortunately this does not mean it’s all done.  Outside there is still drainage and electrical work.  Inside wall board is starting, but there are still some fixes to be made.  We are definitely getting closer, however.  I learned from the builder this week that it is time to commit to paint color.  But this is all we can reveal at this time!

(Shhh… I will tell you – there will be no more rust colored carpet and the color family of  orange / pumpkin is not in the running.)

More soon.
